Full-time Cacao and Cooperative Specialist
The MCC worker will serve with an agricultural foundation of the Mennonite Brethren (MB) churches in the Choco Region of Colombia, primarily assisting in an external donor funded project for assisting in the development of cacao production for small-scale farmers in the region and to accompany the processes for developing a cooperative of cacao producing farmers in the Choco Region.
The worker will be seconded to Foundation for Agricultural Development – Weaving Hope, a foundation created and supported by the Mennonite Brethren Churches of the Choco Region and supervised by the Choco Regional Council of the Mennonite Brethren Church. The MBs have been in the Choco Region for around 70 years. The worker would be directly supervised by the director of the foundation and work as part of the agricultural team based out of the town of Itsmina, Choco.
The start date for this three-year assignment is July 12, 2015.
