Full-time Café Manager
The Café Manager will be responsible for the successful operation of the Café Common Place, which will be located adjacent to the main entrance and foyer/atrium of the MCC Centre in Abbotsford. The café will serve a full breakfast and lunch menu and will be open from 7:30 to 4:00 pm Monday-Saturday. The emphasis is on fresh, healthy and tasty food served in a welcoming atmosphere. The café will also offer catering for meetings and events which could include evenings and weekends. The Café Manager will hire, train, and oversee the café staff and volunteers, to ensure the highest level of customer service possible.
The Café Manager position is a full-time, salaried exempt position and involves working with and reporting to the Food Service Director.
General Qualifications: All MCC workers are required to have a personal Christian faith, active church participation, a commitment to non-violent peacemaking, and support for the mission of MCC.
Job Specific Qualifications include: Experience and sound understanding of the food/beverage service industry, menu planning/implementation, inventory stock taking; highly self-motivated, able to take initiative and work independently, as well as working collaboratively with a committee; excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good organizational skills, ability to demonstrate an Anabaptist value of service, flexibility to work a schedule that includes days/evenings/weekends. Satisfactory criminal record clearance upon hire.
