Full-time MCC Representative(s) for Ethiopia
The MCC Representative (Rep) for Ethiopia oversees all aspects of the MCC Ethiopia (MCCE) program including field programming and supervision of local staff (currently no expatriate service workers (SWs)). The Rep works closely with MCCE’s Advisory Committee (AC) and MCCE Program staff to set direction for programming in Ethiopia and is responsible for monitoring and evaluating current programming as well as developing future involvements and personnel placements. The Rep represents MCC to partners and within Ethiopia more broadly. This position can be held by one person, or be shared by spouses. The assignment is more than 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) so best filled by a couple who can work well together or if a single person, aspects of the work may need to be delegated to qualified national staff. Also because there are no SWs, life for a single person could be lonely until local networks are established. There are many other expatriates serving in Ethiopia with other like-minded organizations. This position is supervised by the MCC Area Directors for East Africa, who are located in Nairobi, Kenya.
The anticipated start date for this 5-year position is February or March 2016.
MCC requires all workers to be committed to a personal Christian faith, have active membership in or demonstrated commitment to and participation in a local Christian church, and be committed to non-violent biblical peacemaking.
How to ApplyInterested individuals are welcome to submit a cover letter and resume online or to their nearest MCC office. View the entire assignment description on the MCC Canada website at http://mcccanada.ca/get-involved/serve/openings/mcc-representatives-ethiopia.
