Full-time Program Coordinator – DPRK
The MCC NE Asia program is seeking a Service Worker based out of the Chuncheon, South Korea office to coordinate and manage MCC’s programs in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). MCC NE Asia is a uniquely regional program, responsible for MCC engagement in China, the Republic of Korea, the DPRK, and regional peacebuilding. Current DPRK program involvements include partnerships in conservation agriculture, orphanages, and with two North American partner organizations (Christian Friends of Korea working with TB hospitals; First Steps with a soymilk factory). The Service Worker will coordinate the day-to-day relationships and programs with our partners in DPRK, will make 3-4 trips to DPRK annually, and will be a key part of the process of seeking to expand MCC engagements in DPRK on both the Canadian side and the U.S. side.
For visa and DPRK program-related reasons, the DPRK Coordinator must hold a Canadian citizenship in addition to any other citizenship they hold.
The start date for this 3-4 year assignment is October 19, 2015.
MCC requires all workers to be committed to a personal Christian faith, have active membership in or demonstrated commitment to and participation in a local Christian church, and be committed to non-violent biblical peacemaking.
