Job Description

Title: Regional Representative, Manitoba

Reports to: National Director, Regional Development

Hours: Part-time contract (renewable terms)

Compensation: Contract rate, plus reimbursement of pre-approved expenses


The vision of Prison Fellowship Canada (PFC) is to be a national community of reconciliation and restoration to prisoners, ex-prisoners, their families and victims based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to prepare and mobilize the Canadian Christian community in response to the issue of crime and the restoration of offenders. As an organization, we share a deep faith in Jesus and wholly believe in His transformative power to heal broken lives. We are actively seeking to grow our community of volunteers, ministry partners and staff with people who share this vision. The role of a Regional Representative is to develop the ministry of PFC in Manitoba under the direction of the National Head Office, with the goal of establishing a full-time regional office.

Key Responsibilities (includes the full suite of responsibilities for full-time)

? Perform a regional assessment

? Form a prayer team

? Form a regional executive board in concert with the CEO

? Promote PFC programs in the region by developing and implementing strategies to engage prison chaplains, church communities and local organizations

? Develop and implement a strategy through local churches to establish teams of trained volunteers to facilitate regional PFC programs in the areas of in-prison, aftercare, family support and victim-offender reconciliation.

? Develop a regional budget with the assistance of the National Head Office

? Develop a marketing and fundraising plan with the goal of achieving regional funding status

? Participate in regular meetings and training with National Office of PFC and other regional staff

? Participate in the ministry of Prison Fellowship on a regular and ongoing basis

Essential Qualifications:

? Mature and growing follower of Jesus Christ who is active in and committed to a local Christian church community

? Full agreement with the statement of faith, vision, mission, values and ministry strategy of PFC

? Passionate about prison ministry and serving the marginalized

? Highly motivated leader with strong work ethic and initiative

? Strong relational skills with an ability to cast vision, communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences, build relationships, and effectively build and lead a team

? Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

? Strong organizational and administrative skills

Education and Experience

? Bachelor degree or higher is preferred

? Minimum of two years experience working in Christian ministry or community development

? Experience in prison ministry is a definite asset

? Must be a resident of Manitoba, preferably in the Winnipeg area
