Full-time Seed Program: Conservation Agriculture Workers (Southern Africa region)
This is a general assignment description for participants serving in the Seed program in Southern Africa, starting August 2016. Seed is a program for young adults (ages 20-30, single or married with no children) from around the world. Seed will bring together 11 young adults from 5 Southern African countries and 2 North American/ European countries, to serve for two years with MCC partners in Southern Africa. Participants will be placed with sustainable agriculture projects in the region while also being linked to a local church. The goal of the program is to create bridges and facilitating exchange of experience across the region, while building leadership within partner churches. Two participants will be placed in each country, with participants working in a country different from their country of origin.
The anticipated start date for this 2-year assignment is August 1, 2016.
MCC requires all workers to be committed to a personal Christian faith, have active membership in or demonstrated commitment to and participation in a local Christian church, and be committed to non-violent biblical peacemaking.
