Job Description

CCMBC Legacy Fund Inc. (Legacy), an associated charity of the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches (CCMBC), provides financial services and resources to CCMBC and MB churches across Canada.  We are seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant, who will report to the CFO in our Winnipeg office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative support to the CFO includes, but is not limited to
    • Scheduling appointments, travel arrangements
    • Scanning, copying, filing documents and mail preparation
    • Assist in planning events and meetings
    • Formatting and/or preparing reports and presentations
    • Taking meeting minutes and preparing them for approval
  • Assist in administration of insurance portfolio, facility leases, and properties
  • Communications liaison includes
    • Work with the communications department, and/or marketing firm for maintenance of website and development of communication materials as requested
    • Assist with preparation of mailers as requested
  • Respond to general and donation related inquiries and transfer to appropriate person if necessary
  • Other duties as required may include, but are not limited to
    • Filing and file organization
    • Data entry/clerical tasks
    • Reception relief
    • Mail distribution
    • Administrative support to other Legacy managers and the Legacy board as approved by CFO

Please note that this is a new position and full responsibilities will be developed over time.

Attributes and Skills

We are seeking a Christ follower with a strong commitment to their local, evangelical church and who is in alignment with the Mennonite Brethren confession of faith. In addition, the candidate should possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Detail oriented, extremely well organized, and able to manage time and multi-task
  • Self-starter with investigative initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team
  • Accurate keyboarding and data entry skills with an aptitude for numbers
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language. Ability to read French would be considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality


Preference will be given to a candidate possessing the following experience:

  • Strong computer literacy with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access)
  • Experience in an administrative role
  • Experience in an accounting/financial environment
