Full-time Conservation Agriculture Coordinator
The service worker in this position coordinates an 18 month-old conservation agriculture (CA) program in Rwanda overseen by a network of five local partners of MCC and funded by the Canadian Food Grains Bank (CFGB). The coordinator works with a Rwandan assistant coordinator to develop Farmer Field School (FFS) curricula and supervise the work of 8 field staff in 8 districts. In addition, an important aspect of this position is helping build the capacity of the network of the five local partners as they develop their agricultural expertise.
While Rwanda recently switched to English from French, French-speaking ability is needed because MCC’s partners primarily speak French. The service worker also needs to be willing to learn some Kinyarwanda.
The start date for this 3-year assignment is July 12, 2015.
MCC requires all workers to be committed to a personal Christian faith, have active membership in or demonstrated commitment to and participation in a local Christian church, and be committed to non-violent biblical peacemaking.
How to ApplyInterested individuals are welcome to submit a cover letter and resume to their nearest MCC office. View the entire assignment description on the MCC Canada website at http://mcccanada.ca/get-involved/serve/openings/conservation-agriculture-coordinator.
