Director of Student Services – Full time, beginning August 2019
Mennonite Brethren Collegiate Institute (MBCI) has an opportunity for a qualified person to take on the role of Director of Student Services. MBCI is a Christ-centred middle and secondary school equipping students to learn, love, and to engage with the world.
Our new Director of Student Services will be responsible for the planning, coordination, development, and evaluation of programs in the area of student services, supporting the mission and vision of MBCI and participating as a member of the Leadership Team of the school.

Duties & Responsibilities:
. Coordinate necessary clinical services with external service providers
. Oversee student academic progress, including advising on course selection and course changes, advising students regarding credit accumulation and readiness for post-secondary admission, and providing resources for grade 12 students regarding post-secondary opportunities
. Provide Education Assistant support and leadership
. Work alongside teachers to prepare, implement and evaluate Student Support Plans,
and provide and facilitate PD opportunities for staff in supporting diverse learners
. Liaise with parents about student needs, working effectively with parents and students to maximize learning
. Provide ongoing personal, spiritual and career counseling
. A Christ follower with active membership in a Christian church
. Affirmation of the MB Confession of Faith
. Excellent planning and communication skills
. Be a qualified teacher with an established teaching background, as well as superior
interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills
. Experience in the area of student services, including the ability to demonstrate and
model successful teaching techniques; exhibit differentiated instructional coaching skills and approaches; as well as knowledge of and experience with various assessment
tools and strategies.
