Full-time Lead Pastor
The Neighbourhood Church of Nanaimo is seeking the will of God as to the next person to be our Lead Pastor. This is a unique position in that our current Lead Pastor is retiring after 33 years of leading our church. We are a Mennonite Brethren Church located in the north part of the city of Nanaimo, BC. Our average attendance is about 160-170 with children making up a very sizable portion of that. Our church strives to be a neighbourhood community defined by a shared sense of belonging to God and each other.
We are seeking an individual who has previously demonstrated superior spiritual and pastoral leadership. This individual must be a strong communicator and recognized for their empathetic listening skills.
The successful individual will possess a seminary Master’s degree from a recognized evangelical Christian seminary and have at least 5 years of recent successful church ministry experience. They will demonstrate excellent sermon skills applying Biblical knowledge and principles to everyday life thereby nourishing and deepening the Christian faith of all attendees.
They must also have previous successful experience in church administration and have been recognized for superior skills in directing and encouraging staff and volunteers. Our Senior Pastor will foster a community that loves and cares for one another, that reaches out within our city and our world, and that experiences a deeper relationship with God.
