Temporary Payroll & Benefits Manager

Position type: Full-time Temporary (Maternity Leave position)
Power to Change (P2C) seeks to help people know Jesus and experience His power to change the world.
As a part of the HR team, the Payroll and Benefits manager will play an integral role in P2C by overseeing all areas of payroll and benefits for over 450 staff across Canada. By using your love for numbers, problem-solving, and payroll knowledge, you have the opportunity to impact Canada with the Gospel by supporting our staff who work on the front lines sharing the Gospel.
a. Payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner
b. Government reports for source deductions are submitted in timely manner
c. Policies and procedures in place are in compliance with all internal external rules and regulations
d. Year-end slips for staff and government are in compliance
e. Final payments for staff are accurately paid out within the required time along with any final paperwork (ei: ROEs).
f. Payroll journal entries are posted accurately with zero errors to the financial system
g. Staff are able to come on and off payroll with minimal paperwork and efficiency through continual evaluation.
2. Health, Wellness and Benefits
a. Relationships for all group insurance and service providers are well-maintained
b. All benefit programs are properly administered and reconciled on a monthly basis for all benefit packages including expatriate insurance plan
c. Benefit programs and health education initiatives are provided and communicated to staff to help with overall staff health.
d. When staff go on medical leaves, they are walked through the process with paperwork (including WCB claims and medical leave requests).
3. Other Responsibilities
a. Active member of the following teams the Crisis Management Team and Health and Safety Team
b. Attend ministry prayer times
c. Lead devotional as required for the HR team
d. Attend weekly chapel time with all Power to Change staff
e. Other duties as assigned by the HR Director
Education & Experience:
• Experience leading a finance or payroll team
• Canadian Payroll Association designation considered an asset
• Post-secondary education
Required Skills & Abilities:
- High degree of professionalism and confidentiality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite
- Understanding of employment standards and Canada Revenue Agency rules and regulations
- Excellent administrative skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently under pressure

This is a salaried position which includes benefits coverage.
