Job Description

The successful applicant is someone who brings a natural relational approach to their interactions with supporters in both written and verbal communication, alongside a strategic outlook, excellent organizational skills, and a keen attention to detail. This role is responsible for implementing stewardship plans for various segments of a large supporter base in order to deepen understanding and support for the mission and vision of MCC, and for supporting the work of the material resources centre in engaging community and volunteer partners.
The stewardship & material resources associate is part of a vibrant communications and donor relations (CDR) team that includes fundraising, communications, engagement and outreach components. This team is responsible for revenue generation, communication and engagement with individuals, volunteers, groups, communities and churches in alignment with the relief, development and peace work of an international organization with a 100-year history.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to people in a positive and collaborative manner and reach out in order to build relationships
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
• Proven ease and comfort with making connections via telephone conversations and written notes and presenting to small, informal groups of supporters
• Excellent skills in planning, goal setting, and time management
• Excellent computer skills and competency with Microsoft Office
• Strong organization skills and ability to manage deadlines
• Proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently
• Valid Manitoba driver’s license
• Legally able to work in Canada
• Satisfactory criminal record check (upon hire)
• Familiarity and resonance with MCC’s work, both internationally and locally
• Post-secondary studies in international development, humanities, theology or a related field
• One or more years of experience with donor relations strategies and administration
• Minimum three years of experience working in the charitable sector
